Tough Girl | Minneapolis Child Photographer

Genevieve finally got her top two teeth in this month and she is suddenly starting to look more like a little girl than a baby. She, of course, has known that she's a big girl all along, but it has come as quite a shock to the rest of us how much older she looks.
She isn't saying a lot of distinct words yet - "mama", "mom", "dada" and "num-num" (food) are very clear and she knows her animal sounds (she has the sweetest little kitty meow you ever did hear...). But, she understands everything and she is extremely proficient with non-verbal communication. When she wants something, she has no trouble at all getting the message across. That should be fun in the coming years.... ;-)
She continues to be a social, happy baby, but is still most comfortable in mom's arms. She has quite the strong, silly personality and is finding more and more to explore (and throw on the floor, spill, or otherwise terrorize) each and every day.
I'm pretty sure it is virtually impossible to see her and not smile...or maybe that's just me...?
Yeah, I didn't think so either. Smile away!

The Black family was so fun to play with and photograph. They were laid back and silly and we were incredibly lucky to have a perfect night in Centennial Lakes Park. Lily was interested in everything we saw and little Julia is on the move and oh so smily! Pretty sure my cheeks were sore from smiling after this session. Thanks for being awesome!
I am working on creating a new wall display for Amma Parenting Center. For this project, I wanted to create some new images and was looking for some babies to photograph. I wanted to diversify the display and my personal portfolio and, hopefully, provide some images to families who would appreciate them.
Whenever I'm looking for new models, I can always count on my mom to make suggestions. This time she hit the jackpot of babies - Golden Hills school in Rochester. They have a nursery full of adorable babies/toddlers and were gracious enough to welcome me in. There, I was able to photograph a number of little cutie pies and provide some very busy new mommies with portraits of their little ones. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this possible!

We met the Foley family at the Walker Art Center on a chilly December morning. It was our first time meeting Mengistu and what a treat it was! Besides being one of the cutest kids EVER, he was super smiley and fun. We had a great time playing the greenhouse and playing catch outside. What a sweet family...
