Hannah & Sophia

The holidays are the perfect time to reconnect and spend some much needed time with our families. After seven fun-filled, food-intense holiday gatherings for our family, I am feeling extremely grateful for all my loved ones (as well as exhausted from the over-eating, kid-chasing, and general merriment). We were lucky to spend a few days with our nieces, Hannah (4) and Sophia (7 mo.). They are amazingly sweet, mild-mannered girls, which is quite the switch from my insanely active twin two-year old boys! I was able to snap a few photos of them somehow in all the activity. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a happy new year!

Oliver

We love being invited into the home of Jake and Michelle to photograph their family.  We always enjoy visiting with them and have so much fun playing with Zach.  And now, we will have even more fun as we get to watch baby Oliver, four months old, grow and learn.  We feel so honored to capture these memories!

Jack

I spent Sunday afternoon in Rochester photographing Jack, an adorable 6 month old boy. I did newborn pictures of this little cutie too and it was amazing to see how he's grown and changed in just a few short months. He was a such a happy little model for me. Thanks Andrea, John, and Jack for the fun shoot. I can't wait to see what the next 6 months brings!

Welch Family

Jen, Sean and their twin boys, Thomas and Matthew, came to Minneapolis for Thanksgiving to visit Jen's family.  While they were here they wanted to get some family photos taken.  We met them at the Walker Art Museum and Minneapolis Sculpture Garden for a morning of playing peek-a-boo and "catch-me-if-you-can"!  We had a terrific time with this loving family and enjoyed running after the pair of 2 1/2 year olds. (They wore us out!)

Schneider Family

Of course, we always find ourselves surrounded by children, whether it be our own, or those of our beloved clients.  Lately, we have been surrounded by multiples!  Gretchen herself is a mother of 22 month old twins, Arthur and Wesley (I'm sure you've seen their photos on this blog!).

Through photographing Arthur and Wesley, we have come to understand the relationship between twin siblings.  We've also come to understand, or at least anticipate, their interactions with others and their environment.  Thus, challenging our photography and producing beautiful photos.

We were excited to schedule a session with Diana and her family in the middle of November.  She had heard about Gretchen, the photographer-mom of multiples, and wanted us to photograph her eight month-old twin boys, along with the two older brothers.

We had a wonderful time photographing this beautiful family.  They were such a joy and their love really filled up our studio.

Ari and Wes - 21 months

I can't believe my babies are already 21 months old! They are such silly, lovable little boys. Arthur is our little helper, always wanting to unload the dishwasher, help with the cooking, and man the dustpan when I sweep. He's a joiner - he watches and studies and then jumps right in to whatever anyone else is doing. Wesley plays very well independently and is obsessed with trucks, trains, and buses. He has also recently started doing an impression of Cookie Monster that I find hilarious. They both love reading books and listening/dancing to music...and they do all the coordinated moves to the songs. In short, they keep us plenty busy and entertained!

Emily

I am so lucky to know someone like Emily. She is strong, self-assured, and sassy, and one of the most loyal people I have ever met. She is tough and girly at the same time. We had a blast at her photo shoot. What an amazingly beautiful person, inside and out.

Wyatt

Grandma and Grandpa brought sixteen month-old Wyatt to our studio in Minneapolis.  When they walked in, Wyatt gave us a friendly smile from over Grandpa’s shoulder.  He was curious, confident and personable as he explored the studio.  We knew right then we were going to have a fun session!

We played with trucks, bubbles, teddy bears and silly glasses!  He kept us on our toes and laughing the entire time.  It was such a pleasure to photograph this handsome little guy.  We look forward to seeing him grow!

Kriz Family

Last Sunday we were scheduled to do an outdoor session with Victoria and her family at Nicollet Island, but had a backup plan to high-tail it to the studio if the weather didn’t cooperate.  We watched the weather and saw that we had a window of sunny skies until about 3pm, at which point, there would be a 30% chance of rain.

As Gretchen and I drove to Nicollet Island, a few raindrops hit the windshield.  We groaned, rolled our eyes, and willed the clouds to hold out for just an hour.  When Victoria pulled up, a few more drops were falling.  We opted to shoot in the sprinkles.

The girls were troopers!  They were cold, but we moved fast to keep them warm and dry.  We joked that the rain would stop as soon as we got in our cars, and sure enough, it did.  It rained only for the length of our session.  Despite the rain and a few shivers, we got some great photographs and had a very memorable session!
